Extra credit ideas:
Look up facts related to the setting of the story we are reading.
Add your own chapter to what is already happening in a book you're reading!
Write any type of poem, story, summary of a book or newspaper article, description of a setting, letter to an author or a company concerning their product.
Cut out articles in magazines or newspapers showing real life uses of math. Make up problems of your own to practice.
Make a list of interestingly spelled words or review "old" words by writing them in different ways (cursive, ABC order, double doodle, calligraphy).
Find those editing errors in a newspaper, magazine, etc. Circle them and bring them to class.
Make a list of "fun" words you've found in the dictionary.
Go onto a science website and explore a topic that interests you. Let me know how much time you spent on it.
Research anything that interests you and present some facts to me - list form, pictures, paragraph, charts, etc.
Record some current events. Find an interesting fact about a historical person or about someone currently involved in our government.
Draw a picture of a historical event.
Find out more information about a "Today in History" fact (found in the local newspaper).
Make a word search or crossword puzzle of social studies, science, math, or ELA words.
Draw a map of anyone's travels.
